Custom order for a Sea Otter Newborn photo prop

This is a custom order for one of my long-standing American customers.
She wanted a Sea Otter newborn prop. Over the years I have made lots of unusual props for her.

You are always welcome to request a custom order- I love the challenge!
Simply message me / email on

The little sea otter consists of a footed onesie, with a matching beanie
The tummy and face have a fuzzy trim, with an embroidered nose, and a few whiskers.
The customer did not want eyes, just the idea of the face, so that it does not detract from the actual baby's face in the photographs.

Handknit in soft alpaca blend yarn, with eyelash yarn trimmings.
This would be a lovely prop in a woodland setting, using rustic backdrops.
Or a fun babyshower outfit for a family involved in conservation.

or a pom pom in rainbow colours for a rainbow-baby!

Sizes given are for 0-6 months and 6 months- 2 years old.

Skill level : for a Beginner that is able to knit, purl, decrease, and knit a simple cable
There are pictures to help you along- its easier than you think!

Newborn Baby Tie Dye Sets

I thought that I would try something new in the shop.  How about a little baby boho?

These sweet newborn rompers have been gently tie dyed in a single colour, chosen so that they dont clash with baby's skin.

Each romper is unique, in the dye style and in how they are presented. You can buy just the romper, or with booties, and little crochet flowers or hearts to match.

Pretty little crochet flower with leaves on the chest for a little girl.

Each romper is made from 100% cotton, made in the UK,
with three little poppers to help with quick diaper changes.

The dye that I have used is from Dylon, which is child-safe.
The dye has been set using only heat and salt, no other chemicals.
The end result is a colour-fast garment, that can be washed at 30 degrees,
but don't bleach or tumble dry.

Some of the sets have sweet little hearts or flowers, with matching booties
so that they can be given as a baby-shower set.
These are lovely as a gift for a summer baby.
Team them with one of my cardigans, or a baby blanket for a really
unique, special gift.

Bear Bonnet and Bootie Sets - just perfect for a newborn baby shower gift

New Range in my store!

Little Baby Bear Beanie and Bootie sets that are just too adorable.
I have knit and crochet sets in a wide range of colours,
all just perfect as a gift for a babyshower or for spoiling your own little one.

The beanies have a matching pair of booties, with a roll-cuff so that the
little boots are more likely to stay on.

I have roll-brim beanies that can be rolled up or down, as your baby grows.
The sets are designed to fit newborn to 6 months old, so that its not a
gift that lasts just a few weeks before baby grows out of it.

You will love these so much, that you will want one in each colour!

They are knit in a superior, soft acrylic yarn, that makes it easy for a
busy mum to simly pop in the wash.

I have the basic colours of creams, pink, blue, beige, grey and white
in stock, but you are very welcome to request other colours.

Pretty little rompers for your Newborn!

New in the shop are these sweet summer baby rompers with matching bonnets.

Each romper has little daisies embroidered on the bib,
for a lovely spring and summer feel.
The outfit is knit in soft, quality, acrylic yarn, to make washing them a breeze.
(but please lay flat to dry!)

The bonnets are a simple, classic style, but with a little
girly frill around the face.  Chin-ties are crochet, and long enough
for a lovely big bow.

There are no buttons for little fingers to fidget with or pull off,
yet the romper is soft enough and stretchy enough, to easily get on and off
your little one.

My three favourite colours for the outfits this summer
are Sage green, Lavender Pink and a lovely Turquoise...
( I do love little girls in blue... brings out those beautiful eyes!)

The baby romper sets are lovely as a summer outfit for your little baby girl,
or as a gift for a baby shower. (they come shipped in a cellulose bag with a big ribbon)

If you would like to grab one of these for yourself... choose below!

Great Crochet patterns for Baby's Nursery

How exciting! A new baby is about to join the family !
If you are anything like me, your fingers will be itching to knit or crochet a bunch of lovely baby goodies.  You will be eagerly browsing all those lovely squishy yarns and looking for beautiful patterns.

I have always loved making baby goodies, they are small, so quick and fun to make, and you can try new, more complex patterns, without committing to a big project. So with that in mind, I have found these lovely nursery crochet patterns for you to make.

Hanging Baby Basket Pouches

Some gorgeous hanging pouches, just perfect for toys, or for hanging alongside the changing table for baby wipes, bits and bobs.  Crochet using cotton yarn, these could even be used in the bathroom for keeping baby toys and cloths tidy.

Newborns can only focus about 8-12 inches from their face, and they only see black, white and grey, with the spectrum of colour starting to come into focus from about 5 months old, so these little penguins hanging from a mobile, are just perfect. You could add little red or other brightly coloured bow ties to each penguin if you prefer a little more colour.

Add a little colour to the nursery with a bright, fun rug.  Great for playtime too.
This little fox is too adorable, and would be lovely in a woodland or animal theme nursery.

Ok , so I am a sucker for little Pugs. They are so 'pup-u-lar' at the moment, because they are just so ugly-cute-adorable! This nursery rug, is sure to be a winner for a boy and his dog!

This adorable elephant rug has been around for a while, but I have included it in my list of Nursery decor, because it is such a delightful addition to any nursery.  The elephant can be made in traditional grey, or what ever colour you like to match your babys room. How about doing the ears in a rainbow of colours?

This adorable blanket- pillow combination is wonderful for a little kid. The colours can easily be adapted to match your nursery. Great for nap-time at grandma or for overnight visits.

An adorable bobble crochet sleeping cocoon and matching hat pattern. Perfect for taking a new baby out in the cold. The pattern comes in 2 sizes, 0-3 months and 3-6 months. Lovely for keeping snug and warm in a pram or while out and about.  This could become a beautiful heirloom piece that you hand down.

These lovely patterns are all available on Love Knitting website where you can also buy the yarn at the same time.  I have another blog post on 8 Easy knitting patterns for baby blankets that you may like too. (see the link below)
